An Introduction to Rowena

An Introduction to Rowena

From Sudden Shock – The Elleanor Stone Collection

Leader of the New Orleans Coven and recently elected to the council governing the accords of the prenatural beings.

Ella turned away, hiding her smile of amusement. Her interest in Breth lay only in what she could learn for her investigation. Wondering where the missing member, Rowena, the reverently admired witch was, she caught sight of her entering by the main floor’s entrance. She spoke with no one, simply making her way to her seat and taking her place. Ella admired the woman.
At sixty two years of age, widowed and childless, Rowena was the coven matriarch of the New Orleans order, leading the largest group of witches and warlocks in the Accords. Her honey, silver-gray hair, elegantly cut and styled in a sleek bob, framed her heart-shaped, lightly wrinkled face. Ella knew the woman well. She trusted her implicitly and knew with certainty that Rowena had no involvement in her present case. That she was also a dear, close friend to Ella’s boss helped in forming her opinion.

An Introduction to Aeden – Council Member

An Introduction to Aeden – Council Member

From Sudden Shock – The Elleanor Stone Collection

Aeden is the Sidhe member of the council governing the accords set up for the peaceful coexistence of the paranormal races.

His arrival, for the most part, went unnoticed by the crowd of mixed beings busy watching the near-fight breaking out between two men. A tall man with wavy, light-brown hair was intent on keeping a vampire away from the werewolf who was snarling in anger. Placed between the two factions, the man’s arms were holding the werewolf, barring the fanged, hissing vampire any access to him. Emerald eyes pierced Breth with a suspicious look upon his arrival, before he was pulled back to keeping the peace.
Those eyes belonged to Aeden Flint, Sidhe Council member for the faerie race, and a warrior loyal to his Queen Eliana. For a Sidhe, his looks were ordinary. Ordinary in the sense that the entire Sidhe race seemed larger than life, beautiful beyond compare and possessing strength incomparable to other races. Breth was not immune to the effect Aeden projected. His hard body, sinewy muscled and corded, flexing from holding onto the werewolf, showed off his strength and grace.
“Enough!” A voice rang out loudly, echoing in the lobby.
The new arrival strode to the vampire involved in the melee, grabbed him by the scruff and pulled him away from Aeden. Laurent St. Yves, his expression incensed, took a deep breath to calm himself, although his need for air was not essential to his existence. The vampire had ceased to be alive centuries before.

An Introduction to Thaleia – An Immortal

 An Introduction to Thaleia

From Sudden Shock – The Elleanor Stone Collection

Thaleia is the oldest living immortal from Egyptian times. She controls the element of water. Although she leads the council, her attention is focused on recovering something she lost centuries ago.
Her quest leads her to enlist Brant’s services to locate it. It is a jewel-encrusted box holding a glass globe. She will not tell him what it holds inside.
As a child of Hapi and a slave girl, few know of her origins. It shrouds her in mystery.
Hapi, thought to be the god of the river Nile, is actually the god of its inundation.  Thaleia is over 3000 years old and faces danger for the first time in her long-lived life.
An Introduction to Thaleia – An Immortal

Brant presumed Thaleia would get to the point of why she found it necessary to barge into his office when she thought him well and properly put in his place. So, he ignored her. He picked up his schedule with his left hand, his coffee with his right and swiveled his chair so he faced the window. With his back to her, he took a sip from his cup and grimaced at the taste of the now-lukewarm liquid. He stared down at the schedule in his hand, not seeing any of the words or notations Marina had left for him. Pretending to be consumed, he heard her remove her coat and scarf and place both on the chair next to her.
“Have you heard from your father recently?” Her question, delivered with what sounded like an amused lilt, was meant to further aggravate him.

Gydion Drabek – Warlock – Division Director

Gydion was born in 1952 outside Somerville Massachusetts. A warlock, commanding all four elements, he quickly rose from his position as a lead investigator to director of the Agency’s Division for Resolving Otherworldly Infractions and Transgressions.

She anxiously took in his age-lined face, all sixty-five years of him showing in the extreme strain he was under. What was once a full head of ebony, wavy hair was now speckled gray and white, thinning on top.
She knew his height of five-feet-eight inches, if he stood, would be hunched and his walk would hold a profound limp from the arthritis in his left knee. He was more than her boss. He viewed her as more than an employee. They had built a strong father-daughter relationship through the twenty some odd years since meeting. He was the main reason she had found a new purpose in life. When they had met, Ella was at her lowest, alone and with nothing to fill her loneliness. Bringing her to New York, introducing her to his world, the inner workings of his department, he had personally overseen her training and helped turn her life around.
Gydion, one of the few she trusted with her history, knew of her origins, the reason for her isolation and why she kept herself from making attachments.

An Introduction to Nelo Anastisi

 An Introduction to Nelo Anastisi

From Sudden Shock – The Elleanor Stone Collection
Nelo Anastisi – Investigator

Elleanor’s vampire investigator partner Nelo was born in the year 1436 in Florence
Nelo had been turned into a vampire at the age of twenty five during the Medici era. His dreams of being an artist, of learning, had been dashed during a visit to relatives in the outlying regions of what is now known as Bulgaria.
After years of hiding, hating what he had become, he eventually returned to his art and his studies. He possessed numerous degrees in psychology, profiling and literature. In the inside pocket of his jacket he always carried the latest novel he was reading. Nelo was an avid reader of anything, as well as fascinated by film and art. He was known for escaping to the nearest movie theater whenever the opportunity arose.
He was beyond handsome, with his dark, silky-brown cropped hair, which accentuated his pale complexion. His features were straight out of the era he had been born into. Five feet eleven, his youthful body maintained its hard muscles, its perfect physique. He was sultry, suave and reserved.
Nothing romantic had ever occurred between Ella and Nelo. He had eyes for only one woman, one who had no inkling of his true feelings. Nelo’s shyness over the opposite sex was enchanting. Ella wondered how Miriam could not be aware of his stolen looks in her direction.
